South Capitol Street - Washington D.C.

AEG contributed as a design team member of the South Capitol Street roadway widening and bridge replacement project. The $440 Million project included design and construction of a new 6-lane bridge replacing the aging Frederick Douglas Memorial Bridge. The project also encompassed street widening and reconstruction, grading and drainage, pedestrian walkways and bicycle lanes along with traffic ovals east and west of the bridge.  Upgrade to the Suitland Parkway Interchange was included in the project scope as well.
